We cannot believe it has been a full year since Joanna Cotter, OD joined our practice at Loh Ophthalmology Associates. On her anniversary, we want to congratulate Dr. Cotter and take the opportunity to share with our audience a little bit about who Dr. Cotter is, as well as what she does with our patients here at LOA.
Dr. Joanna Cotter is a board-certified optometrist who earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Florida and her doctorate from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry where she graduated with honors.
Dr. Cotter completed her formal ocular disease residency training at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, located here in Miami, Florida after she graduated from Nova Southeastern.
Her intense and comprehensive Bascom Palmer training prepared Dr. Cotter to treat and manage ocular diseases which include glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, and corneal disorders. She is an expert in the treatment of dry eye and is currently involved in the newest technology and advances in dry eye treatments here at Loh Ophthalmology Associates such as Lipiflow® and Tear Care®.
Dr. Cotter is also part of an elite organization, Young Leaders of Optometry (YLO) which accepts a limited number of members, provides networking for optometrists in specific regions and also gets together virtually at national conferences to discuss the latest news and technology in the optometric field.
When she is not working with patients at our office or networking with other doctors about new technologies, Dr. Cotter loves to cook, exercise, and spend time with her family and her beagle, Lily.
Dr. Cotter loves to work with patients on treatment plans for dry eye and all ocular diseases to make sure that their goal of better vision is achieved. We are so proud to have Dr. Cotter as a part of our clinician team here at LOA and look forward to working as a team to deliver the best vision care to all our patients that walk through our doors!
